Vicky Ellis is an inspiring leader. As a professional skipper in the 2013/14 Clipper Round the World yacht race, Vicky led a team of 63 amateur sailors in the world’s longest yacht race. Battling terrifying storms and challenges she developed and coached her international crew, rising from the bottom of the twelve-strong fleet to the top over the 11-month race.
Vicky is one of only a handful of women in history to have skippered a team in such a race. She made the record books when she became the first female skipper to lead her team to victory on a leg of the race. Getting to the top in this sport demands not only great determination and courage but also great vision and leadership.
